Trinco, trinco is based on traditional songs, songs handed down from parents to children, which have served and continue to serve to express feelings, to play, to initiate movements… And they serve as a natural way to enter the wonderful world of traditional music with the musical language of our mother language.
The performance begins with a story that introduces the instruments of the audition. Through song La coqueta en sucre (tradicional catan song) musicians and children are presented. Then, the instruments propose as riddles the most well-known songs for the children: Cargol treu banya, La lluna, Sol solet, El gegant del pi, Ric, ric, ric… This is the moment for the two favourite songs Al carrer més alt and Peu polidor. (All the songs are from the Catalan popular songbook).. The song that gives the audition its name, Trinco, trinco, serves as an introduction to the dance games Roda, roda moliner and La Morsuliana (All the songs are from the Catalan folk songbook). The audition is brought to a close by Pepitu and Pepet, the protagonists of the song Els titelles (song from the Catalan folk songbook).
