Samfaina de Colors turns the disc of their latest show into a visual proposal that encourages play and complicity.
The videos of the songs include artistic and creative subtitles. The presentation coincides with the performance at the Temporada Alta Festival on Sunday 7 November.
“Look, listen, play and discover”.
This is the proposal that Samfaina de Colors makes to the spectators at the beginning of each of the videos / songs of the show Andròmines – Junk We are used to watching and listening to a video… but what can we discover and what will we play with?
In January 2021, Samfaina de Colors released our new performance Andròmines – Junk. Now we are releasing the album as videos on YouTube (Samfaina de Colors Channel) and you can also find it -as usual- on digital music platforms such as Spotify, Bandcamp, iTunes…
“As a company, and after talking to families and teachers, we have decided to publish the songs of Andròmines – Junk in video format, because we want to go a step further and add value to the songs“. We are looking, above all, for the children to have a good time”, explains the singer of Samfaina de Colors, Mirna Vilasís. “We wanted to include the lyrics of the songs in the video and do it as creatively as possible, like a game – generating surprises, smiles and challenges – with the aim of making it a tool for families and schools. This is why Xevi Riera, from Punts Volats, has joined the project, who “has been in charge of converting the imaginary of each of the songs into lyrics and drawings, and Julián Waisbord has been in charge of editing the videos”, he stresses.
Samfaina de Colors presented the album and this new format coinciding with the performance of Andròmines – Junk at the festival.
Temporada Alta de Girona (Teatre de Salt, Sunday 7 November 2021 -18.00 h).
The creation process.
We would like to explain the process of creating these videos and the professionals who have accompanied us and contributed their creativity to the project. We have counted on the work of Xevi Riera, from Punts Volats, who has turned the imaginary of each of the songs into lyrics and drawings, and Julián Waisbord in the creation and editing of the videos.

THE SOUND / THE DISC:
Xavi Múrcia locks himself in the recording studio and doesn’t stop until Andròmines – Junk has an incredible sound. Months in the studio where every drop of water, every laugh or siren song has its millimetric place in the song. Months in the studio where every drop of water, every laugh or siren song has its millimetric place in the song.
Recorded, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Xavi Múrcia at the Discos a mà studio in Argelaguer on summer 2021.
Mirna Vilasís (actress-musician): voice, piano, bells, and water percussion.
Xavi Múrcia (musician): voice, electric guitar, pedals and cajón (box-drum)
Executive production: Discos a mà and Samfaina de Colors.

THE IMAGE OF THE VIDEOS:
We work again with Julián Waisbord, who has been responsible for the clips and teasers of the performances. We told him about the idea that the album can also be “watched” and that it should be accessible to everyone by incorporating the subtitles of the songs. And we explained that we would like these subtitles to also be artistic and become part of the song.

THE SUBTITLES OF THE VIDEOS. CREATIVE GRAPHICS THAT BECOME A GAME::
Julián tells us that he knows the ideal person for this idea: Xevi Riera, from Punts Volats. And that’s how Xevi joined the project. His eye and his expertise allow the graphics of each song to have a different personality.
During the intensive weeks of work, we talk a lot about how we read, which game is most suitable for children and also for adults, how each of these games is understood… and we also have time to talk about what corkboards or raindrops are like.
